Mini Carousel

23 September 2022

New work for voice soprano and trombone, based on the famous “Karawane” from Hugo Ball (1886-1927) and a nonsense compilation of recent words from the world of news. Under the tittle Karawane, Ball´s text reinvented a meaningless language, also known as Lautsprache. Written for the singer Viviane Singer and Antonio himself, this new work will be part of a program devoted to voice and trombone, alongside original works by Furrer and Aguirre (world première).

A Tribute to Ben Johnston

23 October 2019

Antonio Jiménez Marín pays tribute to Ben Johnston. The American composer Benjamin Burwell Johnston died in July this year at the age of 93. He was best known for extending Harry Partch´s experiments in just intonation tuning to traditional instruments through his system of notation. Having studied with the trombone soloist and composer Mike Svoboda, a former student of Ben Johnston, Antonio presents this special performance (a live recording from the Swiss première in Basel) devoted to his stage solo work for trombone with percussion called “ONE MAN”.
