Antonio Jiménez-Marín is a trombonist and performer. His activities span across solo recitals, lectures, improvisations, music theater, ensemble music and as a chamber musician to various formations. The trombonist has appeared internationally as an acclaimed performer especially for contemporary music.

Antonio has performances at festivals such as Aldeburgh Festival, Paris Manifest, London Proms, Lucerne Festival, Wien Modern and Zeiträume Basel. As a guest, he works regularly with the Ensemble Modern and has been invited by Klangforum Wien, Remix Ensemble Casa da Música, Ensemble Basel Phoenix, and the Collegium Novum Zürich, among others.

Member of Neon Ensemble (Luzern) and alumnus from IEMA, sonic space basel, Ulysses Ensemble, Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme and Lucerne Festival Academy.
Since 2017 he has a duo voice and trombone with the Swiss Soprano Viviane Hasler. Antonio has also performed with orchestras such as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Sinfoniker, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Filarmónica de Gran Canaria and Collegium Musicum Basel.

Born in 1989 in Spain, Jiménez-Marín completed his training in the new music class of Mike Svoboda in Basel and holds a pedagogic degree from the FHNW. He graduated in music and trombone in Granada, Glasgow RCS and Frankfurt HfMDK. Jiménez-Marín was awarded, among others, 1st prize at the Yamaha Competition, John Wallace Principal Prize, 1st prize David James and 3rd prize Mendelssohn with IEMA.
